Lakeside Community Church History

Lakeside Community Church meets in the Civic Centre in the heart of Perton next to a beautiful lake. We've been known as Perton Christian Fellowship since 1980, but have recently changed the church name to emphasise our heart for the community around us.

Team Leadership

Lakeside Community Church Perton is developing through team ministry which is overseen by the Leadership Team.
 
Rob Pearson trained for and worked in the engineering sector for 24 years before becoming the Team Leader and Pastor of Lakeside Community Church. Rob heads up the Leadership Team and is involved in the vision and direction of the church. He regularly speaks and leads worship & represents the church locally and among the Wolverhampton NET group of churches. Rob also heads up the Worship area of the church. He has been involved in the recent church name change and is currently developing a link with the Pioneer/VIA church network. Rob passionately believes ‘the local church is the hope of the world’ (quoting Bill Hybels). He is well known in the village of Perton through regular school assemblies and involvement in the community which includes developing the partner ministry we have with our good friends in the Church At Perton. As well as engineering qualifications, Rob holds a Diploma from Birmingham Bible Institute, a Masters Degree from Cliff College. and Counselling Skills qualifications from Wolverhampton College.

carole-closeupCarole Pearson works alongside her husband Rob and serves on the Leadership Team at Lakeside Community Church. Carole acts in a pastoral role and also serves with the RDD youth group. She is one of our speakers and is also involved in running the popular ladies retreats. Carole heads up the Ministry area of our church and is also supportively involved with local minister’s wives in the Wolverhampton NET group of churches. Carole is curently training in degree level counselling skills & theory with Shrewsbury College. Carole is a qualified teacher and college lecturer holding a BA, PGCE and is an A1 assessor.

Andy & Jenny BradleyAndrew Bradley serves on the Leadership Team and as our Youth Pastor and has initiated a number of youth activities in the wider area, including recently setting up Wolverhampton Youth For Christ. Andrew and his wife Jenny have given weekly input into our older youth cell group LBC, Jenny is a regular singer with our worship band. Andrew is involved in our European charity PCF Romania Projects and is assisting Wolverhampton churches to partner with the Message trust in Manchester. Andrew is a qualified architect and brings many practical skills to our church life.

John & Jan SavageJohn Savage serves on the Leadership Team and is a regular speaker at Lakeside Community Church. John heads up our Homegroup network and heads up the Maturity area of our church. Along with his wife Jan our treasurer, they are both Trustees. John has worked for many years in the Civil Engineering sector and brings business & management skills to the team.

Sue GengeSue Genge serves on our Leadership Team, is one of our Trustees and is involved with Andrew Bradley in our European charity PCF Romania Projects. Sue has faithfully served the church since its inception (as PCF) in 1980. Sue covers the Mission area of our church. Sue has worked for many years in the education sector. as a deputy Headteacher in a local school.

Clive Ingleby who works as a local electrician has recently joined our Leadership Team and brings with him a love of people and gifting in outreach initiatives including runing many Alpha courses with his wife Wendy. Clive heads up our events team an takes a particular interest in our young people, planning weekends away.
David Ingleby who works as a locally-based photographer recently joined our leadership team at the same time as his brother Clive. David heads up our Sunday children’s activities and co-ordinates the popular children’s talks in the service.
